Understandably the passing of Patrick Swayze is getting all the headlines today. But I wanted to note the death of Paul Burke. He stared in The Naked City which premiered on the ABC television network on September 30 1958, and immediately broke new ground in the presentation of police series, echoes of which are still present within the cop show genre even today. Every TV cop on the air today owes Burke.
